TenPilates was set up in 2007 by Joanne Mathews and David Higgins.
Joanne first met TenPilates co-founder David Higgins whilst recovering from a car accident in 2006.
As someone who gets great pleasure from making things happen, taking TenPilates from an idea born during a rehab session to an established Brand is her proudest achievement to date.
Just over 6 years since she and David launched their first Studio, and with more than 50 staff in 6 different locations, TenPilates is well on its way to achieving its vision of becoming the Dynamic Pilates destination of choice for discerning Londoners.
With first-hand experience of the challenges and frustrations of trying to remain fit and healthy whilst managing or recovering from injury, Joanne is passionate about the importance of a holistic approach to health and exercise. The launch of TenPhysio in 2009 – and with it, Ten’s uniquely integrated Circle of Care model – has brought this philosophy vividly and effectively to life.
As Managing Director, Joanne is responsible for the strategic direction and day-to-day performance of TenPilates and Ten Physio.
Joanne loves business and people – she is a qualified NLP practitioner - and her ability to combine both her passions makes her role at Ten the most fascinating, challenging and rewarding of her career.
David Higgins left TenPilates in 2013.
